Final Concentration Series

The central theme to my concentration is daily life in Paraguay. I started with the city life and what that would look like, then I gradually moved to urban areas and then more rural, ending it off with being inside of the home. The media used in this concentration is mostly photo purism and a little bit of Photoshop to alter the brightness/contrast and to add black borders around each picture. I choose this theme because I was in Paraguay for 10 days this October, and I literally fell in love with the people and the country itself.

New/Reworked Concentration Artwork

These are two very much improved art pieces. I changed the the brightness/contrast greatly, and used the dodge/burn tool a lot, especially on the sky in the slum picture.

Concentration Series

The central theme to my concentration is the daily life in Paraguay. I started with the transportation of many citizens, and then went into what you would see in the city of Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay, ending with cooking and the food that they prepare and how they prepare it. The media used in this concentration is mostly photo purism and a little bit of Photoshop to had borders and cropping backgrounds. I choose this theme because I was in Paraguay for 10 days this October, and I literally fell in love with the people and the country itself. If you haven't made it to Paraguay yet, I would strongly recommend it.

Opposites Challenge- Weekly Challenge 8

Bertarelli said that my opposite was to do car photography. This is a picture of a bus that I took when I was in Paraguay a little over a week ago. It was originally in color and I changed it to black and white because I thought that it added effect that way.

Silk Painting

On this I would give myself a 4. The reasons being:
4.A There is successful use of the elements of design, but the investigation of 2-D design
principles is limited in scope.
4.B Some clear decision making and intention are evident.
4.E Some of the work has evocative qualities that engage the viewer, though confidence is not
obvious; conversely the work may display confidence but not be engaging.
4.G With the apparent appropriation of published or photographic sources or the work of other
artists, the student’s “voice” is discernible; the images have been manipulated to express
the student’s individual ideas.
I also only had a single class period to do this entire project because I was out of town when we started it. So for being rushed like this I'm pretty proud of myself.

Field Trip Art

These are photos from the Field trip to Boulder. The two of a statue are from the tea house, and I threw in this one of Bertarelli just because she's GORGEOUS!

Narrative Series

These are all apart of my concentration. I will probably edit them more before submission, especially the backgrounds. My concentration is the 7 deadly sins, with five of my own. The top photo is envy. The next is sloth. The third is lost, which is one that I came up with. The last one is lust.

Weekly Challenge #3

This is my Weekly Challenge #3. My challenge was to make fractal art. With this piece I first drew it completely by hand in various colors of pens, and then I uploaded it to the computer and redrew in all the colors digitally to make it look much cleaner. This piece took quite a long time.

Weekly Challenge #2

This is my weekly challenge #2. With this piece I'm emulating the color red without actually using the actual color. My piece is about love and roses, which I feel resemble the color red very well. It's done in fine art with pencil.

Weekly Challenge #1

The project I picked was doing a previous project from Dig 1 or 2. This is night photography from Dig 1. This was my cell phone with a red background

Summer Artwork

This image is from a Rockies game that attended over the summer. I thought it would be a really cool shot to take of the entire field, and how you can see all the different individual fans in the crowd. The photo was originally in color, but I decided to change it to black and white to add effect to it.

My other image is a fine art piece that I made. It's based off a character in the show Pretty Little Liars, Spencer Hastings. In one episode they go to a masquerade ball, and in my drawing she has a similar dress on, however I created my own mask for her and a different hair style.
