New/Reworked Concentration Artwork

These are two very much improved art pieces. I changed the the brightness/contrast greatly, and used the dodge/burn tool a lot, especially on the sky in the slum picture.

Concentration Series

The central theme to my concentration is the daily life in Paraguay. I started with the transportation of many citizens, and then went into what you would see in the city of Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay, ending with cooking and the food that they prepare and how they prepare it. The media used in this concentration is mostly photo purism and a little bit of Photoshop to had borders and cropping backgrounds. I choose this theme because I was in Paraguay for 10 days this October, and I literally fell in love with the people and the country itself. If you haven't made it to Paraguay yet, I would strongly recommend it.

Opposites Challenge- Weekly Challenge 8

Bertarelli said that my opposite was to do car photography. This is a picture of a bus that I took when I was in Paraguay a little over a week ago. It was originally in color and I changed it to black and white because I thought that it added effect that way.

Silk Painting

On this I would give myself a 4. The reasons being:
4.A There is successful use of the elements of design, but the investigation of 2-D design
principles is limited in scope.
4.B Some clear decision making and intention are evident.
4.E Some of the work has evocative qualities that engage the viewer, though confidence is not
obvious; conversely the work may display confidence but not be engaging.
4.G With the apparent appropriation of published or photographic sources or the work of other
artists, the student’s “voice” is discernible; the images have been manipulated to express
the student’s individual ideas.
I also only had a single class period to do this entire project because I was out of town when we started it. So for being rushed like this I'm pretty proud of myself.
